Secretary's Desk

It is great pleasure for me to present the annual report of the organization Rural Development Society for the year 2006. By and large our activities are dedicated to the socio-economically weaker section of the country focusing on community based integrated development with peoples participatory down to top approach. Rural Development Society (RDS) has been striving heart and soul for strengthening the development initiatives of distressed people especially for empowerment of women and children.

RDS has been strengthening its activities for development of human resources particularly for the poor illiterate distressed and oppressed people of scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and indigenous community people so that they can avail the benefit of globalization. In this connection initiatives has been taken for community awareness building, capacity and skill development, and self help social and economic action programmes for the women, youth, children, rural and urban people of most vulnerable sections.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to friends, well-wishers, government and non government agencies within the country and abroad for their generous financial and moral support. Our thanks, above all, to the Almighty for His blessings that have been instrumental in serving the mankind.
